Sounds interesting... it would have been cool if kaio-ken killed Goku.

Consequence... 90% chance of killing him with 10% of succeeding. If Goku is always part of the 10% that's lucky, then...Goku is just boring.

Then we will have a side arc of bringing Goku back, which we've already done... Twice. That's time wasted when we could be getting new material.

Why bring him back? Goku served his purpose, if Dragon ball is going to continue, it will cool if new characters and new planets were involved or Vegeta visits U6.

Unfortunately the chances of Goku dying and not being brought back are slim to none. Which is a shame considering Vegeta might actually make use of Gohan and the kids unlike Goku.

Goku is the main character... He is Dragon Ball. I dont understand why new characters, planets can't be involved if Goku is alive nor why Vegeta can't go to U6 with Goku still breathing.

I didn't think the whole old generation to new generation ever came to a full fruition. The whole point Goku didn't kill Buu was because he wanted the next gen. to do it themselves. Goku could become a yoda type character.

I just want Goku to stop being the main character, he's got more than a varied enough cast to make up for his absence that I would like to see, and frankly if Goku did become a Yoda or other kind of mentor character I think that would be just fine. I and many others don't have to be reminded that our main hero is a maniac that killed billions, we still see new places and people, other characters good more spotlight, and Goku gets to stay in the show. Everyone wins (more or less)

Someone dying does not remove their presence from the plot

Case in point, Master Oogway

I haven't been keeping up with this Arc just watching tidbits so one of you guys, give me some update here. This tournament apparently doesn't allow killing. What exactly was Piccolo's plan when he decided to charge up a 3 minute long, seemingly full powered Makansappo/Special Beam Cannon against Frost?

But Goku dying? When he stays dead, give me a call, otherwise, who gives a s***. It's just another boring character being killed in a world where death literally has no meaning. Even if by some miracle Toriyama wanted to push Goku outside and let other characters take place, you know very well Toei's going to push Goku into as much filler material as they can.

Presumably shoot him in a non-vital part of the body that would make him unable to battle, but not kill him?

Unfortunately where would that be? He was charging that thing all the way and when it was released, it was a pretty big blast as well. To me, any part of Frost that got hit by that would've been taken clear off, arm, leg, head, shoulder. I simply see no way that Piccolo could hit any part of Frosts body (bar the tail perhaps) and not do an excessive amount of damage.

Was it ever said why Piccolo even used it? I've really only seen some clips so I don't know if Piccolo had been forced into some corner where an amped attack was the only way to even hurt Frost.
